Pest - Downtown gems
On this walk we will discover the sights of downtown Pest, including the Parliament, Liberty Square and its surroundings, the Basilica, the iconic Chain Bridge and the picturesque Danube promenade. Of course, alongside the huge sights, there will also be time for small hidden treasures and plenty of good stories.
What to expect:
We begin our walking tour at the stunning Hungarian Parliament Building, a must-see in Budapest, where you’ll learn about the rich history of Hungary. As we stroll through Kossuth Square and Liberty Square, you'll discover fascinating monuments and historical sites that define the city’s past.
On our way to the magnificent St. Stephen’s Basilica, your guide will share captivating stories about Hungarian culture, local traditions, and the everyday life of Budapest’s residents.
The second part of the tour takes you to the world-famous Chain Bridge, a symbol of Budapest, and leads you along the scenic Danube Corso. This picturesque promenade was once the favorite walking area of Budapest’s nobility. We will stop at Vigadó Square to take in breathtaking views of the Danube River.
We finish the tour at Vörösmarty Square, a popular hub for shopping and dining, and a central point for public transport, including metro lines 1, 2, and 3, as well as tram line 2. From here, you can easily continue exploring on foot along Váci utca, one of Budapest's most famous shopping streets.
