The GRAND Budapest-walk

A real best-of tour for all those who like to walk a lot and want to see a lot at the same time.

What we will see on this tour:

On this tour, we’ll get a little taste of everything—a bit of Pest and a pinch of Buda, because that’s what makes this city so well-rounded. I’m not saying we’ll see everything in 4.5 hours, but by the end of the tour, you’ll know what’s worth exploring on your own and where you’ll want to come back to.

The first half of the tour focuses on the Pest side. We’ll meet at the Parliament Building, and after a brief orientation, our route will take us through Szabadság Square to St. Stephen’s Basilica. From there, we’ll walk down to the city’s symbol, the Chain Bridge, and cross it to the Buda side.

From the Chain Bridge, the entire panorama of the Danube unfolds before us. We’ll walk past the Buda Castle Funicular and the Tunnel, then take the elevator through the Castle Garden Bazaar up to the terrace of the Royal Palace.

After a short coffee break, we’ll continue our walk through the Castle District, exploring the former government quarter, the Sándor Palace, Dísz Square, and the Castle District’s most popular statue said to bring good luck. We’ll conclude our walk at Matthias Church and the legendary Fisherman’s Bastion, which will reward us for our long walk with the city’s most beautiful panoramic view.

For those who want to get a comprehensive overview of Budapest in a little more than the average time. There is a lot of walking, but the route can be covered with average stamina. The route is not barrier-free, so it is not recommended for people with reduced mobility.
