Cool Budapest - Jewish district and street art

This walking tour takes you through one of Budapest's coolest neighbourhoods. Starting from the elegant Andrássy Avenue, we will immerse ourselves in the Jewish Quarter, which is both the centre of Budapest's Jewish culture and its vibrant nightlife.

What we will see on this tour:

Our tour starts at the Opera House, where we will briefly learn about the history of Budapest and Hungary. We'll spend some time on the stunning Andrassy Avenue, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and take a peek into the Opera House lobby.

From here the walk turns from elegant to underground, as our next stop is the bohemian Jewish Quarter. Here we learn about the culture, history and traditions of the Jewish community in Pest, and visit three of the great historic Jewish temples of the district - including Europe's largest synagogue on Dohány Street.

The streets of the district are like a huge open-air gallery, filled with famous street art pieces that tell the story of the city's past and present. And of course, Budapest's legendary nightclubs are not to be missed! The tour includes a visit to the city's oldest ruin bar and a stroll through the bustling Gozsdu Courtyard, one of Budapest's nightlife hubs.

Our walk will end at Madách Square, with easy access to the city's public transport hubs, including metro lines 1, 2 and 3, and trams 47 and 49.
